What kind of events take place at Les Fontaines?

A:

Les Fontaines is a private residential conference center hosting corporate events: seminars, product launches, shareholder meetings, motivational events. There is a 500-seat auditorium, a complete range of meeting facilities and overnight accommodation for up to 300 guests. Take a look at our work spaces.

A:

No, the Domaine des Fontaines is exclusively reserved for corporate events.

Can there be several events taking place at Les Fontaines at the same time?

A:

Les Fontaines has accommodation capacity for 300 guests, and several events can take place simultaneously. However, you can reserve the Domaine for your exclusive use for a supplementary fee.

Les Fontaines obtained the European Ecolabel in 2008 and 2010, in recognition of our active policy on sustainable development, which is explained in detail in the Eco-responsibility page of this website.

Accommodation, meals and practical services

Q:

What do you provide in the guest rooms?

A:

The guest rooms provide all the comfort you need to relax in the best possible conditions. Each room has a bathroom with shower, a double bed, a desk, a telephone, free Wi-Fi access and a television. They are all equipped with a hair dryer and a towel dryer.

What do you provide in the bathrooms ?

A:

As part of our environmental policy, Les Fontaines limits personal care products to shampoo and soap. However, at the Front desk you can obtain a toothbrush and toothpaste, and other products if necessary.

Are laundry services available at Les Fontaines? Can you provide ironing facilities?

A:

Our laundry service is available on demand at Reception. We can provide an iron and ironing board.

Q:

Is there air conditioning at Les Fontaines?

A:

The work areas and the Château are air conditioned. The guest rooms are being equipped with air conditioning, provided by the geothermal energy project that we started in the spring of 2010. It will enable us to improve your comfort while remaining true to our eco-responsible policy.

Are meals served on-site ?

A:

Yes, all meals and snacks are served in the Château or in the Forum Café, but not in the meeting rooms. Because Les Fontaines is not a hotel, room service is not available.

I am on a special diet. Can I tell you about my dietary requirements before I arrive?

A:

Yes, the restaurant team will attend to your dietary needs. After you have registered with an event at Les Fontaines, explain your dietary restrictions to your organizer who will communicate them to us.

What sort of weather do you have at Les Fontaines ?

A:

Les Fontaines is located in Chantilly, France, 50 kilometers north of Paris. The weather is variable, so you should check on conditions before you travel. You can look up Paris-area weather online at http://www.worldweather.org or the site Météo France.

Q:

Will I need to go outside?

A:

The various areas in Les Fontaines are arranged in campus style around the park. You will therefore need to go outside to pass from one building to another. A covered path is provided from the villas, where you sleep, to the Forum, where the activities take place. You can enjoy several very pleasant terraces and outside areas, and use the wood paved paths and the fitness circuit.

Are there exercise facilities at Les Fontaines?

A:

Les Fontaines has a number of facilities for sport and relaxation: a fitness center, a covered swimming pool, a Turkish bath and a sauna, plus tennis courts, a fitness circuit and footpaths in the 130-acre (52 hectare) park. In the area surrounding the Domain you can play golf, ride and enjoy numerous other sports activities.

Where can I park my vehicle?

A:

Visitors park their vehicles in a car park under surveillance throughout their stay. You will be asked for your license number / registration number at the security post when you arrive.

Is the domain accessible for people with reduced mobility?

A:

All facilities at Les Fontaines are wheelchair accessible, as are certain rooms in each of the villas.

Are there shops in the Domaine des Fontaines?

A:

The Les Fontaines Boutique at Reception offers branded bathrobes, a selection of fine wines, swimwear, and other sundry items that you might need during your stay.

Is smoking permitted?

A:

Smoking is prohibited in all buildings. You can smoke outdoors: ashtrays are available near the entry to the Villas’ exits and on the Forum Terrace.

Will I be able to use my cellphone at Les Fontaines?

A:

All GSM900, DCS 1800, 3G and Edge phones can be used in the Domaine.

How do I call somebody in France?

A:

All French telephone numbers have 10 digits, beginning with 0. Use this number directly to call somebody in France (e.g. 03 44 62 91 00). To call France from another country, dial that country’s exit code (e.g. 011 for the USA, 00 for the UK) and replace the initial 0 by 33 (e.g. 011 33 3 44 62 91 00)

How do I call somebody in another country from France?

A:

Dial the French exit code ‘00’ followed by the country code you are calling (e.g. 1 for the USA and Canada, 44 for the UK), then the desired number. Generally, if the desired number begins with ‘0’, this must be omitted.

Should I bring my own computer?

A:

We recommend that you bring your laptop, since the site is Internet-enabled, and with the WiFi cards made available to you by our partner Cisco (lent on request at the Shop), it is very simple to go online.

How do I go online?

A:

The network is accessible from all the guest rooms. There are more than 3 500 connection points throughout the Domaine and a WiFi connection is possible in a large part of the Domaine exterior.

What is the mains voltage in France?

A:

It is 220V AC. We recommend you bring your own adapter. In emergencies, Reception can lend you one, plus an extension cord.

Can I have access to a computer if I do not bring my laptop?

A:

The lounge areas of the Forum have free-access PCs where you can go online, browse the Internet and send e-mails.

What equipment is available for presentations?

A:

We provide you with: Multimedia PC (with a DVD drive), HF microphones, sound/loudspeakers, video-projectors, interactive video terminals, wireless mouse and keyboard, wired interfaces (video, audio network, screens), videoconference terminals, CISCO Wi-Fi cards, VHS player.

Security at Les Fontaines

What about security at Les Fontaines?

A:

We do everything to guarantee your security. Dedicated security surveillance teams are on duty 24/7. Les Fontaines is protected by a perimeter wall. On entering the Domaine, all visitors must first register at the security post. The site is compliant with fire safety French standards.

Q:

What must I do if there is an emergency?

A:

The instructions in case of fire or evacuation are displayed in all the guest rooms and on notice boards in the main areas of the Domain. In medical emergencies, call Reception immediately to obtain help.

What is the security procedure for visitors?

A:

All visitors must be notified to us in advance and register at the security post on arrival. Visitors who arrive unannounced must state and prove their identity. The person responsible in the group in question must give their agreement before they can enter the site.

Q:

Must I keep my passport on me?

A:

You may be asked to show it at the entry when you arrive, but once you are on the site you need not keep it with you. However, if you leave the site, you should take it because you will need to show it on your return to Les Fontaines.

May I take photos or videos?

A:

Permission to take photos or record videos during your stay may be subject to certain conditions. Please ask your event organizer about any special conditions.

Arrival and departure times

Q:

When is room check-out time on the day of departure?

A:

You are asked to leave your room by 9h00 am. You may if you wish leave your luggage in secure storage until your departure. At 9h00 Reception will exchange your key card for a day pass to be handed in at the security post on your way out of the site.

Q:

Can I arrive before the start of my event and stay longer afterwards?

A:

In special circumstances, it may be possible to find a solution to accommodate you. If the Domain is fully booked, or if it is a holiday period, you should envisage an alternative solution for accommodation. The site www.chantilly-tourisme.com gives the list of hotels in the town and the site http://www.parisinfo.com lists hotels in Paris.

Which is the nearest town to Les Fontaines?

A:

Downtown Chantilly, where you will find shops, restaurants and cafés, is a mile and a half (2.5 km) away. The Front desk can call you a taxi which will get you to town in 5 minutes. You can check the site www.chantilly-tourisme.com to book shows or other activities in Chantilly. When outside the site, make sure you have your identity document: you will be asked to show it when you return to the site.

A:

Les Fontaines is 20 minutes from the Gare du Nord in Paris by TER express train. Take the train at Chantilly/Gouvieux station. You can find the schedule at www.sncf.com. To book shows and activities in Paris, visit the site www.parisinfo.com. When travelling outside the site, make sure you have your identity document: you will be asked to show it when you return to Les Fontaines.

How do I get to Les Fontaines?

A:

Les Fontaines is a 30-minute taxi ride from Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport and a 50-minute taxi ride from the Gare du Nord station in Paris where the Eurostar and Thalys trains arrive. See the section Getting here for detailed information.

How do I get to Les Fontaines by train ?

A:

Les Fontaines is 30 minutes by TER express train from the Gard du Nord in Paris where the Eurostar and Thalys trains arrive, and also the RER train from Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle and Orly airports. The nearest station to Les Fontaines is Chantilly/Gouvieux (see train schedule at www.sncf.com). On arrival at the station a taxi will get you to Les Fontaines in 5 minutes. For fuller information see www.aeroportsdeparis.com. If you are arriving at Orly airport, we advise you to take the RER B3 express train (reached by shuttle service) to Paris Gare du Nord (30 minutes). Then take the SNCF TER train to Chantilly/Gouvieux station (30 minutes) where taxis are available for the 5-minute drive to Les Fontaines.

A:

Yes, we can book you a taxi, bus or mini-bus to get you here from Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport or central Paris. You will settle the fare directly yourself. Pre-paid group transport can also be arranged by our team.
