What is Les Fontaines?

What kind of events take place at Les Fontaines?

 

Les Fontaines is a private conference center hosting corporate events: seminars, product launches, shareholder meetings, motivational events. There is a 500-seat auditorium, a complete range of meeting facilities and overnight accommodation for up to 300 guests.

Is Les Fontaines available to rent for private receptions or social functions?

 

Les Fontaines is a corporate event center, and does not offer services for individuals.

Will there be other groups there at the same time as ours?

 

Since Les Fontaines has a 300 bedroom capacity, the facility is sometimes betweenoccupied by several smaller groups at once. If a group of less than 300 persons wishes to have the entire venue to itself, this can usually be arranged at an additional cost, assuming there are no prior reservations by other groups for the period.

What are Les Fontaines guest rooms like?  

What amenities can I expect in my room?

 

Rooms are simple and functional. Each room includes a private bath with shower, a 140cm standard-sized double bed, desk, and telephone. All rooms have hair-dryers and towel warmers.

Are toiletries provided?

 

Each room is supplied with shampoo and soap. For environmental reasons, we no longer automatically provide other individually packaged toiletries. However, upon request the Front Desk can supply guests with travel toothbrush-and-toothpaste kits or other emergency toiletries.

Is there television in the rooms?

 

All the guest rooms have television (available channels : TF1 , France2 , France3 , Euronews Fr , Arte , M6, MTV Fr , Eurosport Fr ; CNN International , BBC World, CNBC , ARD1 , Euronews De, Raï 1)

Is there a mini-bar?

 

The 5 executive guest rooms each have a minibar. Each Villa has a self- serve refrigerator on the ground_floor with free soft drinks (Coke, mineral water?). Drinks are served in the Bar du Château nightly from 7pm to midnight.

Are laundry services available?

 

Laundry services are available upon request.

Are an iron and ironing board available?

 

An iron and ironing board can be loaned to guests on request.

What are the guest facilities at Les Fontaines?  

Are there exercise facilities?

 

On-site, there is a Fitness Center, complete with exercise equipment, a 20m indoor swimming pool and sauna. There are outdoor tennis courts, a fitness circuit and extensive walking and running trails. The region around Les Fontaines offers extensive opportunities for golf, horseback riding and many other sporting activities.

Is Les Fontaines wheelchair accessible?

 

All facilities at Les Fontaines are wheelchair accessible, and there are wheelchair accessible rooms in each of the villas.

Are there any shops?

 

The Les Fontaines Boutique at the Front Desk offers branded bathrobes, a selection of fine wines, swimwear, and other sundry items that could be of use to you during your stay.

Is smoking permitted?

 

Smoking is prohibited in all buildings. Smoking is only permitted outdoors: ashtrays are at your disposal around the Villas' exits and on the Forum Terrace.

What are Les Fontaines' environmental policies?

 

Les Fontaines is committed to respecting the environment, including efficient energy use and responsible waste management policies.

How do I make telephone calls?  

Will my mobile phone work at Les Fontaines?

 

Mobile service is available for GSM900, ; DCS 1800, ; 3G ;and Edge telephones. Availability depends upon roaming partnerships between your mobile operator and Ffrench mobile service providers (Orange, SFR, Bouygues Telecom).

What is Les Fontaines telephone number?

 

The Les Fontaines switchboard is +33 (0)3 44 62 91 00. The Front Desk is open 24h/24h except for week-ends. To call the Front Desk from your room, dial 91 00

Can I make credit-card calls from my room?

 

No

How do I make phone calls in France?

 

All French telephone numbers have 10 digits, beginning with 0. Use these 10 digits to place a call anywhere inside France. If you are calling France from abroad, dial the French country code (+33) and leave off the initial zero in the 10-digit French number

How do I make international calls?

 

To make a call outside France, dial "OO" for international, then the country code and number you are calling.

What is the computer set-up at Les Fontaines?  

Should I bring my own computer?

 

Participants are encouraged to bring laptop computers, as network and internet access are readily available. Our partner CISCO has donated WiFi cards, that can be borrowed from The Boutique.

How can I get online access?

 

Network and dial-up access for your laptop are available in all guestrooms. More than 3,500 network outlets are available throughout the site and wireless connection capability exists in many of the outdoor courtyards.

What is the voltage at Les Fontaines?

 

The voltage in France is 220V AC. While adapters, extension leads and power strips (multi-socket plugs) can be obtained from the Front Desk, participants are encouraged to bring any adaptors they may need to work in France.

If I don't bring my own computer, can I have access to a shared computer?

 

The lounge areas in the Forum have shared-access PCs to allow guests to go online, check and send e-mails, etc.

What are the arrangements for meals?  

Are all meals served on-site?

 

All meals and snacks are served on-site, either in The Château or The Forum Café. Meals are not served in the meeting rooms, and room-service is not available, as Les Fontaines is not a hotel.

What if I have special dietary requirements?

 

Les Fontaines is equipped to provide for a variety of dietary needs. Once you have registered and been confirmed for an event, you should indicate any special dietary needs to your event coordinator.

What is the weather like at Les Fontaines?

 

Les Fontaines is located in Chantilly, France, 50 kilometers north of Paris. The weather is variable, so you should check on conditions before you travel. You can look up Paris-area weather online at http://www.worldweather.org

Will I need to go outside?

 

Because the campus of Les Fontaines includes multiple facilities, you will be out-of-doors as you move from one activity to another during the day. There is a covered walkway between the Villas and the Forum. There are several terraces and enjoyable outdoor areas as well as wooded walkways and exercise trails.

Is Les Fontaines air-conditioned?

 

All buildings at Les Fontaines are air-conditioned, with the exception of the bedrooms.

What is the dress code?

 

Since Les Fontaines is a place of learning and creativity, we recommend comfortable, professional attire, or "business/smart casual."

What other clothes should I pack?

 

Participants who plan to use the swimming pool, tennis courts, or explore the extensive walking and running trails should bring appropriate attire.

What are Les Fontaines' security arrangements?  

Will I be safe at Les Fontaines?

 

At Les Fontaines your security is paramount. All visitors must check in at the security post and present proper identification. The entire site is under 24/7 surveillance and has been outfitted with a fire-detection and sprinkler system.

What should I do in case of an emergency?

 

Specific instructions for evacuation in case of fire or other emergencies are located in the guestrooms and on panels throughout the site. In case of a medical emergency, contact the Front Desk immediately to request help.

What is the security procedure for visitors?

 

All visitors must be expected beforehand and must register with the security post at the entrance to the site. Visitors who are not expected must show proper identification and their host must approve their visit.

Do I need to carry identification?

 

Participants may be asked to provide their passport as a means of identification when first entering the site, but do not need to carry it once on site. If you choose to go off-site, be sure you have proper identification to return to Les Fontaines.

What about my car?

 

All visitors' cars are parked in a secure car park. You must provide your license plate number to the security post when you arrive.

Are personal photography and videotaping permitted?

 

Permission to take personal or group photos and/or videotape on the grounds may be granted following specific requests. Participants should check with their event coordinator upon arrival.

What are the check-in and check-out policies?   

What is check-out time?

 

Official room check-out time is 9:00 a.m. at the Front Desk. Luggage can be stored until your departure in the Forum's luggage storage area. Upon check-out, you will be given a day pass in exchange for your room key card; you can then deposit the pass at the security post when you exit the site.

Can I arrive at Les Fontaines before my event begins and stay after my event concludes?

 

If it is necessary to arrive early or leave after your event has concluded, Les Fontaines can, in certain circumstances, arrange accommodations on-site as space permits. If, however, the facility is fully booked or closed due to holiday, guests will need to make other arrangements.

How far is the nearest town?

 

The town of Chantilly is xx kilometers away. It offers a wide range of shops, restaurants, and cafes. The Front Desk can call a taxi for you for the 5-minute ride into town. How far is it to Paris?

 

Paris is around 50 kilometers away. Paris is a 20-minute train ride on the SNCF's TER train from the Chantilly-Gouvieux station (see www.sncf.com for schedule). How do I get to Les Fontaines?

 

Les Fontaines is easily accessible from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (30km) and from central Paris, including the Eurostar and Thalys train terminals at Gare du Nord (50km) . See Getting There for more information.

Can I get there by train?

 

Les Fontaines is a 20-minute train ride on the SNCF's TER train from the Gare du Nord station in central Paris. Eurostar and Thalys trains as well as RER trains to Paris Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports also leave from Gare du Nord. To get to Les Fontaines, take the TER train from Gare du Nord to the Chantilly/Gouvieux Station. (For timetables and fares see: www.sncf.com.) Can Les Fontaines arrange transportation for my group or me?

 

Les Fontaines can arrange for private taxi, bus or mini-bus transportation to or from Charles de Gaulle airport or central Paris and you can pay your fare directly. Pre-payment can also be arranged in advance for groups, through our event planners.

How do I get there by car?
