The Capgemini Campus Les Fontaines, which hosts over 40,000 guests per year, is equipped with seven defibrillators placed at strategic points all over the premises. First aid training is also offered to all of the staff.

In France, more and more people are signing up for first aid training. However, it would appear that only 40% of them are trained, compared to 80% in Germany. And yet, first aid can save lives. “For example, in many cases of cardiac arrest, the heart continues to beat, but beats too erratically to function efficiently as a pump”, the Red Cross site explains. “This is called fibrillation. The defibrillator analyses the victim’s heartbeat and administers an electric shock if necessary. If the person is reanimated within minutes, the chances of survival increase considerably”.
