The men behind the scenes who bring you to light...
Every day, the technical team at the Auditorium des Fontaines contributes to the success of your event. Here's how.
"Our customers sometimes have doubts before the launch of their event," explains team manager Philippe Attuel, "there' s so much to plan and validate! We're there to give them confidence, by assuring them, right from the start of the event, that everything will go smoothly." Of course, this is not a matter of incantation, but of hard work.
The auditorium is one of the showpieces of the Les Fontaines Campus. With its 450 seats, 20-metre stage and 16-metre screen, it is also equipped with all the latest digital technology. "You can imagine anything," says Philippe Attuel, " but you need to think ahead, because even a seemingly simple project requires several trades to be synchronized on site: sound engineer, lighting engineer, video engineer, technician, electrician, even carpenter for certain sets." The technical team has been accompanying events held on the site for 13 years. With over 2,800 events organized and 500,000 participants welcomed, they have mastered the full potential of the venue.
Advertisers, corporates, event agencies and private individuals will find everything they need to make their project a success. Technical orientations depend on the event's objectives," explains Sébastien Parent, the team's associate manager. Everything has to be done with a purpose, and that's all the more true when you're bringing 500 people together..."
From the outset, the technical team meets with the customer to understand the project's objective, and to define the event's scenography together. No matter how simple, the main phases of the day need to be defined. We act as a consultant," explains Philippe Attuel. Both to identify technical needs, and prepare the production, but also to present the full potential of the Auditorium."
Computer-controlled, the Auditorium is equipped, for example, with an infodecor, which displays a virtual set along the entire length of the stage. Information, illustrations and animations, with sound, light and video, add remarkable depth to any presentation. The Auditorium is equipped like very few other venues in Paris. This infodecor allows simple events on a tight budget to take on greater scope. The difference lies in creativity, " adds Sébastien Parent. We work in symbiosis with our guests, and by quickly understanding their needs, we are always in a position to offer them an adapted technical approach, so that their event is both unique, successful and memorable".
5 tips for securing your event
(1) Bis repetitas. The rehearsal, or technical run-through, is an essential phase. To master the event on D-day, you need to go further than a simple paper list and, like any show, check under conditions as close to reality as possible that everything is in place.
(2) Work on sequences. If the subject is important, moving from one theme to another means writing transitions. You need to show your audience the logic of the discourse. What's implicit is obvious only to the person who made the speech. The audience, on the other hand, expects the explicit, and transitions serve to articulate the message.
(3) Create fluidity and rhythm. Transitions contribute to this, but the entire speech must offer a staging of information. In front of 500 people, you need to keep up the pace, keep the attention constantly on the move and create mini-events within the main event.
(4) Check your PowerPoint. Missing original fonts distort the layout, missing media, incompatible video format... even typos in the text. Once projected, any error is significant on a giant screen. More generally, any technical effect should be tested twice before the big day.
(5) Create a team. The success of an event depends, among other things, on the quality of the team. Everyone is important. Respect for each other's professions is paramount, and the level of information shared is even more so. A solid team produces a memorable event. The public is not mistaken.
On site, the technical team...
While the Auditorium is a veritable jewel for major events, Campus Les Fontaines also offers 60 meeting rooms for up to 120 people. Whether for meetings, exchanges, brainstorming or motivation, these meeting rooms are equipped on request with audiovisual equipment. A dedicated team ensures that everything runs smoothly. In constant contact with the customer, the mission of Cédric, Stéphane and Frédéric is to prepare the room and provide sustained but discreet assistance to the moderator. What's more, the team is constantly on the lookout for new technologies.
