Want to get an idea of what an Event Manager does? Play Tetris! In real time, you have to assemble the pieces of a changing puzzle. The five Event Managers at Campus Les Fontaines have put a lot of practice and polish into their gameplay.

"It's both a stage manager's and a coordinator's job," explains Stéphanie Hébert, Event Manager at the Campus. "We have to make sure that the logistics of the Campus, external service providers and customers all play the same music, at the same rhythm." In other words, an Event Manager's work never stops!

Once a contract has been signed, the Event Manager is responsible for ensuring that the event takes place as planned.

Various trades are then called upon, including catering, housekeeping, IT, security, audiovisuals and even gardeners!Nothing is left to chance," explains Alexandra Musitelli, " everything that can be planned is, but we also have to manage the contingencies of any event, especially last-minute requests." And the Event Managers team knows how to do it: with over 2,800 events realized in thirteen years, many situations have been experienced and successfully handled.

Events on the site come in all sizes. Some may involve three people, while others involve managing a population of five hundred. There are one-day events, as well as three-day events. Pauline Santini adds: "It's a permanent exchange with the customer. We stay by their side throughout the event. That's one of our strengths, to be constantly on the lookout and in action, to guarantee that everything runs smoothly."

The Event Manager is the essential interface between the customer and the dozen or so trades working on each event. "This simplifies the customer's vision and reassures him. This means they can concentrate fully on the content of their project. They know they can count on us." Every Campus Les Fontaines customer benefits from the permanent presence of an Event Manager, from the preparation to the complete running of the event. With a keen sense of organization, it's also necessary to develop a real sense of listening: "An event is alive. Each customer's needs can change as the day evolves. We're there to assure them that almost anything is possible. Sometimes we also have to manage a few little secrets, vis-à-vis the participants, when a VIP is expected, or the event involves some pleasant surprises."

And when the day's over? "Another one is long in the making! Our job is to take part in our customers' day-to-day events, but also to take stock of completed projects and prepare for the next day. At Les Fontaines, time flows with passion.
