For a perfectly connected event at Les Fontaines
Yannick Le Barbu, Antoine Verlynde and Yoni Hayoun, who are responsible for running the site's IT infrastructure, agree: " Our ideal is to always be proactive, so that customers rarely have to deal with us. The IT department at Campus Les Fontaines has an essential mission: to ensure that the technical and IT infrastructure is always 100% operational.
It's a constant monitoring job," explains Yoni. Quality is achieved by anticipating potential problems. "
That's why Campus Les Fontaines offers a High Density Wifi network that covers the entire site: meeting rooms, auditorium, château, bedrooms, but also outside. " There are connection peaks that need to be ensured. For example, during breaks when everyone starts surfing to a video signalled a few minutes earlier during a work session. Our network can be put to the test, but it has never given up, " enthuses Yannick Le Barbu. In fact, sometimes several hundred devices are connected simultaneously. That's why the infrastructure relies on 210 Wifi hotspots, strategically placed around the site, to avoid any disruption in service. Like a GSM network, the terminals relay traffic as customers move around the site, in a way that is totally transparent to the user.
The IT department also offers customized services. Some customers ask us for a private, secure network connected to their corporate network," explains Antoine Verlynde. This is the core business of Capgemini, one of the world's leading providers of consulting, IT and outsourcing services.
In addition to infrastructure, the IT department is also responsible for telephone networks, TV, digital signage, and support for the many video conferences and WebEvents held on site. " We also assist our customers on how to use their PCs, or how to optimize the use of touch screens in our meeting rooms. When an event is launched, our team is mobilized, alongside all the Campus departments, to ensure that every participant has a unique experience at Les Fontaines. "
